AUTUMN CONCERT
on Saturday 15th October 2011
The society will be singing for
St Leonards Church, Old Warden
to help them raise funds for essential repairs to the Ongley Mausoleum.
The programme will feature a selection of popular OPERA CHORUSES including the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Verdi’s ‘Aida’ and the Bridal Chorus from ‘Lohengrin’ by Wagner.
Alison Eames and Karen Beer will sing the beautiful Flower Duet from ‘Lakmé ‘by Delibes.
We will also be including pieces by Gilbert & Sullivan and Rodgers & Hammerstein as well as The Cackling Hen, a delightful short extract from ‘Divine Emblems’, the work specially commissioned for our 65th anniversary and given its first performance in May this year.
